Piner High School Hosted the 2nd Annual North Bay Ladies Classic
on Saturday Dec 3.
Many nationally and state ranked female wrestlers participated.
Women's wrestling is one of the fastest growing sports in America.
This year, over 70 Wrestlers from 16 Schools competed. There were
many great matches in the finals including some local favorite's
like Rancho Cotate's Briona Herdren Fall over Castro Valley's Cecilly
Diaz from Castro Valley and Ukiah's Nicole Powell's tough loss to
Gabrielle Solis of Castro Valley (ranked 2nd in the state). The
bright spot for host school Piner was Molly Petersen's 3rd Place
victory over San Leandro's Tiffany Villareal 9-8.
San Leandro walked away with top team honors with Castro Valley
coming in 2nd.
Nationally ranked Katherine Fulp-Allen of Half Moon Bay received
Outstanding Wrestler award after her Finals victory State ranked
Lauren Neves of Amador Valley.
